Seasonal note · Denver area
Turn it off before
October 1.
Most cities and counties surrounding Denver require automatic watering to be shut off by October 1, 2026. Turn your sprinkler clock or system to Off before then. You can still schedule a blowout or winterization with us during October — just switch the system off on your end first.
What a winterization
covers.
- 01
Shut off the water supply
We shut off the dedicated sprinkler system water supply so no more water feeds into the lines.
- 02
Blow out the lines
We blow out all water from the lines to a safe amount — small traces remain, but not enough to freeze, expand, and crack pipes the way non-winterized lines would.
- 03
Shut off the clock
We shut off the sprinkler clock so it isn't calling for water through a dry, winterized system.
- 04
Note any damage
We note any damage we see and leave a note for the owner, so you know what to watch for in the spring.
- 05
Set the backflow preventer
We leave the backflow preventer in its winterized position, ready for the cold months ahead.
Winterization is a shutdown service, not a backflow test. Backflow testing isn’t part of what we offer.

Shut down clean. Sleep easy.
Why blow out
the lines?
Water left inside your sprinkler lines freezes when the temperature drops. Ice expands — and that expansion cracks pipes, splits fittings, and breaks heads. A proper blowout clears the water so there’s nothing left to freeze. It’s the single most important step to keep your system intact through a Colorado winter.
